Tall Ships Parade
My fondest memory is during the summer following freshman year (July, 1976) attending the tall ships parade with viewing off of Castle Point with my parents and my brother. We traveled via railroad to Stevens as the roads to Stevens from northern N.J. were closed or highly restricted due to the enormous number of people traveling to the Hudson River for viewing. The day was glorious with warm and pleasant weather and the view, as you might imagine, was truly amazing as dozens of ships from all periods in our nation's history and many ships from countries around the world cruised up and down the Hudson with fireworks, water sprays, and great fanfare. What a birthday celebration it was!
