For Brothers Sachin N. Shah ’89 M.S. ’93 and Saumil N. Shah ’91 MTM ’00 MBA ’08, Family Ties Span the Globe, and Lead Back to Stevens

Challenge the status quo. Experiment. Collaborate. These are core Stevens principles that Sachin N. Shah ’89 M.S. ’93 and Saumil N. Shah ’91 MTM ’00 MBA ’08 have taken with them around the world as they built families and careers.
Sachin recently assumed the role of General Manager of Emerging Markets at Manulife. Prior to this, he served as CEO of AIG Asia Pacific in Singapore and had spent 20 years with MetLife in various executive roles, including his last role as CEO of MetLife Japan – MetLife’s largest business outside the U.S. Saumil began his career in 1991 as a sales trainee with Rockwell Automation.
Saumil began his career in 1991 as a sales trainee with Rockwell Automation. He has since worked his way to the role of director, Global Business Development at the company. He is responsible for leading strategy, business development, growth initiatives, business partnering, inorganic business models and alternate market access approaches.
As students, the Shah brothers immersed themselves in Stevens' campus life. Sachin played baseball and Saumil played lacrosse. They were active in Khoda, Student Council and Greek life. Their work ethic – something learned from their parents and reinforced in each other – never wavered. As Saumil puts it, “A strong work ethic is a clear expectation. That hasn’t changed from my parents to the way Sachin and I raise our kids.”
Now, it is their children’s turn to develop their talents at Stevens. Sachin’s son Jaisal is part of Stevens Class of 2022, and Saumil’s daughter Serena will graduate in 2021.
“I am confident that Stevens will prepare me for my future,” Serena says.
